The monitoring presents the results of residential and commercial real estate markets of Moscow and Moscow Region in December 2010.
The last month of 2010 did not bring any important changes in the elite residential market of Moscow. The average price for elite primary apartments remained at the same level, new properties did not enter the market. Buyers' activity dropped traditionally on the threshold of New Year holidays.
In December 2010 the office real estate market displayed the trends that were relevant during the whole year: the recovery of the market continued, the demand for rent and purchase of premises was growing - several large deals were concluded in December, at the same time the "crisis" trends remained relevant.
The opening of "Tsvetnoy" department store in Tsvetnoy boulevard became the main event of the professional retail real estate market in December. The launching of "Afimall City" REC in "Moscow-City" MIBC, which had been earlier planned for December, was shifted to Q1 2011.
There was slack in the hotel market in December: no significant property was opened in Moscow and regional cities. However, several new projects were announced in the current month.
In December 2010 delivery of new settlements continued in the countryside residential real estate market of Moscow Region. The majority of new projects delivered to the countryside residential market of Moscow Region belonged to the economy segment.
