The monitoring presents the results of development of the residential and commercial real estate markets of Moscow and Moscow Region in January 2011.

The office real estate market displayed rather high indices of tenants', developers' and investors' activity. In general, the beginning of the year turned out to be rather positive for the office real estate market, the market continues to display rather stable indices, at the same time all the post-crisis trends remain relevant.
The announcement about a new project of a retail center in the structure of a multifunctional complex at the Golovinskoe highway became the main event of the professional retail real estate market in January. The total area of MFC, the developer of which is MR Group, will amount to 166, 000 sq. m.
The drop of business activity could be traditionally observed at the beginning of the year in the hotel market: no hotel properties were opened in Moscow and Moscow Region. At the same time the market players expect considerable supply increase in the segment in 2011.
The delivery of new countryside projects was in progress in the countryside residential market of Moscow Region in January 2011. At the same time the average level of prices for the countryside residential real estate of Moscow Region remained at the same level. It should be noted that the New Year holidays caused traditional drop of buyers' activity, as for developers, they were on the contrary very active.
